At high water we leave the Bassin du Commerce in Cherbourg and stick to the Cotentin coast to benefit the eddy of the strong flood stream along Cap de la Hague to get there in time for the start of the ebb stream which will bring us all the way to the archipelago around Guernsey or Jersey. We visit some of these Islands and appreciate their differences. On Herm and Sark there is no car traffic, in strong contrast with Guernsey and Jersey. On the way back to the Channel we visit Alderney with all its forts.

After Cap de la Hague and Point Barfleur we sail into the Bai de Seine, where you find the D-Day Beaches. We end this trip just north of the river Seine, in Le Havre.
